The Malmaison Hotel is housed in two converted seed warehouses, which date from the 1860s. Elegant and imposing, the façade still boasts numerous original features, including stone-carved gargoyles. The 62 luxury guestrooms are designed in an exciting fashion, employing bold colour schemes, ‘Moulin Rouge’ style black and cream striped lamps and closet doors, as well as gold and red velvet touches in the furniture. All are impeccably maintained, as are the en suite bathrooms.
The hotel’s brasserie serves wonderful local specialities like Belveliy Smokeries wild salmon and Jilly Doogan’s tasty wild boar sausages. There’s also a spectacular bar, which provides a fabulous array of wines and some dangerously delicious cocktails.
