George Best Belfast City Airport

George Best City Airport (BHD) was renamed in 2006 to commemorate the life of the famous footballer George Best who was born in Belfast. The airport deals mainly with short-haul flights and is used by the budget carrier Ryanair. It is situated only 2 miles from the city centre and is easily accessible by taxi, train or bus. The train service runs twice hourly and involves a short bus shuttle to the terminal building (approx. cost £1.20). The Airlink bus service runs every 20 minutes between the terminal building and the City Hall (approx. cost £2.20 return).

Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport (BFS) is located 21 km northwest of the city centre. As the name suggests, Belfast International Airport deals with most of the long-haul flights from Belfast with airlines such as Aer Lingus and Continental. It the airport used by the budget carrier Easyjet. The airport is accessible by taxi, train and bus. Taxis should cost about £25 for a single journey. Trains run between Belfast Central and Antrim (6 miles from the airport). Buses operate a 24 hour service with buses departing every 10 minutes during the day. (Airport Express 300 service).
